A.Habitat
Sambar deer is the largest deer in Indonesia. Sambar or in scientific language (Latin) is called Cervus unicolor being the largest deer among 3 other indigenous deer such as deer timor (Cervus timorensis), bawean deer (Axis kuhlii), and deer (Muntiacus muntjak ).
Sambar deer comprises at least 13 subspecies. The original sambar deer subspecies are from Indonesia and the largest deer in Indonesia is Cervus unicolor
equinus. This supplement is available in Indonesia (Sumatra and Kalimantan), also in Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand.
Feature and Behavior. B.Characteristic of the sambar deer is a large body with brownish fur color and tends to be brown to gray or to a reddish, dark color along the top.

Deer that live in Sumatra Indonesia can grow as high as 102 cm - 160 cm with a body length of about 150 cm. The weight of adult deer is about 80-90 kg (female) and 90-125 kg (male). Sambar deer horns are also quite long and can reach up to 1 meter high.
